Solect Energy is currently seeking a full-time Massachusetts based Project Manager responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing resources and activities involved in the installation of commercial PV Solar Systems. This is a customer facing position. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of commercial solar or electrical management experience, superb customer service skills, strong technical and business acumen, and impeccable time-management skills which will enable success across multiple projects simultaneously. The candidate will be a driven, self-starter with a passion for the solar industry and the desire to propel a fast-growing Solar Development firm to regional prominence. The position requires the ability to manage a large volume of projects while demonstrating excellent professional communication. The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is a key to success in this role. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team and participate in the solar (PV) industry from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a detailed timeline for all projects.
- Manage the appropriate resources to ensure projects are completed within scheduled timeframes.
- Perform regular site visits to track project progress.
- Manage customer communication and ensure excellent customer experience. Serve as the main point of contact with the customer regarding project progress.
- Manage the subcontractors to achieve agreed upon timeframes and quality standards.

Qualifications

Analyst, Strategic Finance
Overview
General Summary
The Financial Analyst role offers an opportunity to join a leading company in the fast-growing renewable energy industry. The Financial Analyst will provide financial modelling support to the sales team while continuing to refine Solect’s project financing model. This position will also be an integral part of our structured finance investment team to grow our portfolio of renewable assets. In addition, the financial analyst will work closely with the construction services team to improve Solect’s speed and accuracy in project costing/estimating. Solect’s offices are located in Hopkinton, MA, and this position is expected to be hybrid or full-time in the office.
Responsibilities
- Support Business Development Managers by modeling complex solar and energy storage opportunities
- Work with the structured finance team to continuously refine Solect’s project financial model and support our asset portfolio
- Continually refine Solect’s financial model by integrating regulatory changes, equipment changes, and learnings from experience on completed projects
- Analyze actual vs. estimated costs to improve Solect’s accuracy in estimating
- Attend design and costing reviews. Support the Design team and Estimators by building and maintaining an easy-to-use, up-to-date database and methodology for costing complex projects
- Support the Energy Storage, Sales, and other Departments as necessary with reporting and analysis
- Support project financing process to ensure all projects meet minimum hurdle rates, and information is current and understood about all portfolio assets
- Interface with the policy team to understand regulatory tariffs, state incentive programs, and federal tax benefits. Integrate changes to policy and new policy into Solect’s financial models to ensure accuracy
- Support the CFO with ad hoc corporate finance analysis and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 1-3 years of experience
- Excellent financial acumen: Knowledge of accounting, financial statements, time value of money, and metrics that are meaningful to C-level decision-makers
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Creative problem solver – this role requires someone with the ability to understand high-level company goals and determine the best way to support them
- Strong communication skills – this role will interface with several internal company functions and require a thorough understanding of all stakeholder requirements to develop “user-friendly” tools and models
- Ability to develop a strong understanding of regulations and how they impact project financials

The Sr. Project Manager collaborates with all departments within the organization, conducts project due diligence, plans and manages project scope and timelines, delivers projects within the approved budget, and manages appropriate change orders. Strong financial acumen is essential.

- Develops a detailed timeline for all projects and manages all aspects of the project from kickoff to closeout, including overseeing appropriate resources to ensure projects are completed within scheduled timeframes and financial budgets.
- Performs regular site visits to monitor project progress. Ensures that all processes related to materials, safety, and job quality are adhered to.
- Manages customer communication to ensure an excellent customer experience. Serves as the primary point of contact with the customer regarding project progress. Provides leadership, mentoring, and direction for Site Supervisors.

- • Should multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and exhibit strong critical thinking skills to resolve project issues quickly and effectively.
- • Requires strong computer skills, detailed knowledge of G Suite, Salesforce, Microsoft Office, project scheduling software, and an OSHA 30 Certification.
- • Ideally, the Sr. Project Manager will hold a bachelor’s degree and have five years of project management experience in the solar or electrical field, successfully managing multiple 100-500 kW DC commercial solar projects.
- • The ideal candidate for this position will possess or be willing to obtain NABCEP certification and MA CSL.
Special Position Requirements
The Sr. Project Manager will be required to work on rooftops and at varying heights, in different weather conditions, and in extreme work environments (including heat, snow, wind, rain, etc.). They must also be willing and able to travel to job sites and walk client properties. Occasionally, the Sr. Project Manager will need to lift up to 50 lbs. and routinely perform tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing ladders. Off-hour work (nights/weekends) is sometimes necessary for specific activities like outages and crane work.

Special Projects Technician II – Solect Energy
Overview
The Special Projects Technician will receive daily onsite direction from our SSP Construction Foreman and his direct Manager. Under the supervision of the SSP Construction Foreman, this position covers all aspects of general construction, focusing on general carpentry and installations to support all SSP and Self Perform Construction projects. Additionally, the Special Projects Technician will assist the Service Team as needed.
Responsibilities
Key Functions
- Collaborate with SSP and Self Perform Project Manager to support ongoing SSP and Self Perform projects. Prioritize cases to be scheduled based on the severity of the issues.
- Assist with general project-related repairs and project closeout, including completion of the project punch list items.
- Work alongside the SSP foreman on project scheduling, site mobilization, and safety setup.
- Continue to support the Service team as priorities dictate these assignments.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in the solar industry is a plus.
- 2-4 years of general construction and carpentry experience is preferred.
- Experience and certification in operating mobile scissor lifts and telehandlers are preferred.
- Ability to climb and work at varying heights, including rooftops and ladders.
- Ability to frequently lift items weighing between 1-60 lbs and occasionally lift items weighing from 61-100 lbs.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and extreme environments (including heat, snow, wind, rain, etc.).
